Come for the gigantic talent, stay for the babycakes provided by Cupcake Royale!

Please join us for the Writers in the Schools (WITS) annual, year-end Student Readings & Celebrations. Stupendously talented student writers from 23 public schools across the Puget Sound region will share their finest poetry and prose. Attendees at last year’s event laughed, cried, and laughed so hard they cried. The WITS Student Readings & Celebrations showcase the talents of local student writers, boost student confidence, and celebrate the work of the WITS writers-in-residence (local, professional writers who’ve completed year-long residencies in public schools throughout the Puget Sound region).

Elementary and middle school students read on Wednesday, June 3; high school students read on Wednesday, June 4. Both events feature student writers from public schools in the Seattle, Highline, and Tukwila school districts. Both events are free and open to the public. Each evening's reading will be followed by sweet treats and an opportunity to congratulate the stars of the show. Parents, teachers, administrators, and community supporters are all invited to attend.

6 p.m., Central Library
Level 1 in the Microsoft Auditorium
