SAL counts on supporters like you to help us bring our community together - people of all ages and backgrounds - to read and write, to listen deeply, and to bring forward the voices we all need to hear. In fact 60% of our annual revenue comes from charitable donations. Please join us to power another year of inspiration, conversation, and community.
$10,000 inspires 200 students for a full year at one public school serving a low-income community through SAL’s Writers in the Schools (WITS) program.

$1,000 employs a local, professional writer to teach and inspire K-12 students for one month through SAL’s WITS program.
$500 increases access to an original lecture by one of the most important writers and thinkers of our time through real-time open captioning.
$250 brings SAL’s WITS program to three K-12 students for an entire year.
$100 provides tickets for 10 students to be inspired by a nationally known author at a SAL event.
$50 funds one K-12 classroom of WITS students in celebrating their writing through classroom anthologies, poetry slams or original books.
Join us at Words Matter 2017 and be a champion of the literary arts for readers and writers of all generations in our community.
