SAL is always looking for qualified volunteers. Please read the overview below and link to an application form by clicking on the job title in red.

WITS Writer-in-Residence

Writers in the Schools (WITS) is looking for creative writers—poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, cartoonists/graphic novelists, and playwrights—who are passionate about teaching the power and pleasure of writing to young people and who are excited to collaborate with public school teachers. Employment is part-time. Residency contracts vary, but typically extend for nine months from October to June. A school-year commitment is typically required.

SAL Volunteer

Overview: Join the biggest little book club in Seattle!
Behind the scenes at SAL is a corps of dedicated volunteers who contribute their time to ensure we meet our mission of sparking imaginations and bringing together people and ideas. We have a host of areas that you can get involved in and experience the literary world. Volunteers do many things from ushering at our events, to assisting with mailings and other administrative tasks, to working with our annual Words Matter Benefit.

SAL Intern

Overview: College students are invited to apply for internships at Seattle Arts and Lectures. Internships for academic credit are available, as well as for non-credit experience, depending on your interests, needs, and school guidelines. All internships are non-paid. If you are interested, please review our Internship guidelines and details.
